DISRUPTING PHOTOGRAPHY - JOBS TO BE DONE

A few months back I was given the opportunity to be a guest on Chris Spiek, and Bob Moesta's podcast  - jobstobedone.org.    I had met Chris and Bob at the Switch Workshop, hosted by 37signals,  which is a fascinating workshop delving into the sequences of events and beliefs that make people switch to something new.  They outline a method of interviewing customers unearthing unexpected data of how people consume.  There is an other Switch Workshop coming June 21,  I highly recommend it.  http://switchjune21.eventbrite.com/

I want to personally thank Jason Fried for introducing me to this workshop and for joining us in the discussion.

In this podcast, we talked about my new business venture www.snipsnapgo.com, focusing on the marketing and where the next step should go.

Thanks again Chris, Bob, and Jason for the opportunity!

LETS MAKE SALAD

There is a false belief that you need to be the best at something to even attempt to do it.  This realisation came to me when I was watching Jamie Oliver make a salad on youtube.

To make a really delicious salad, you dont have to be a celebrity chef.  I love this vid for several reasons.  He doesn't do all that fancy show-off chef chopping, he doesn't even use dishes to make the salad, he uses his hands, he gives options for you to make it how you like it.

This applies to anything, photography, art, dancing, music, math, science, sports....

You need the right teacher that leaves out the unnecessary confusion, and the right tools.  If you cant learn something new, that probably means that the teacher sucks, not you.
